Local Events Coming Up

I haven't written recently...you can thank all this illness going around! My boys have been sick on and off for about 2 weeks. Luckily, no flu for us, but they both had the croup. Now that they are well and I have disinfected my entire house (with nontoxic cleaning products of course), I am back :-)

Some great events took place already, and I am sorry I didn't get to share them with you in advance. This past Sunday night was Polaris Mall's Magical Night of Giving. This was my first year attending, and it was a wonderful event (not to mention great to get in some early Christmas shopping). Helping Hands Center participates, and so I was able to buy a $5 ticket from them to attend and support a school and therapy center for autism at the same time. Definitely check this out next year, its a terrific event. You can check it out at http://www.polarisfashionplace.com/go/mnogHome.cfm.

Pediatric Therapy Partners is hosting "A Taste and A Toy" on Thursday, December 3rd at 7pm. This is a clinic where occupational therapists and speech therapists work with children who have autism or other delays that deal with sensory processing disorder. I attend their support group every month, and am really excited for what they have planned for December 3rd!!! "No Glute For You" will be providing a delicious sampling of gluten-free and gluten/casein-free baked goods to taste and Discovery Toys will be demonstrating the latest in developmentally appropriate toys available for Christmas. All proceeds from Discovery Toys will be donated to the Pediatric Therapy Partners Foundation to serve children and families of children with special needs. Please RSVP to 614.433.0132 by November 25th. This event is open to the public and more information is available on their website at www.ptpohio.com. I will be there and hope many will attend...I plan to do lots of Christmas shopping from the discovery toys catalog :-)
